If you don't know any Spanish, like me, then you may hit a roadblock when trying to figure out which colorful and fun Mexican candy to buy. To help you along, here are some common Spanish words you'll see around our candy store:

Paletas

It means lollipops and they don't necessarily need to be hard candy. Paleta Payaso are chocolate covered marshmallow "lollipops".

Tamarindo

Tamarind is a pod-like fruit that's shaped like a peanut and has a sweet and sour taste. It's one of the most popular and common flavors!

Sandía

Watermelon candy has this word printed on it. A sweet choice that is often paired with chile.

Fresa

Fresa means strawberry and we have a lot of strawberry flavored gummies, lollipops, and creams.

Manzana

A great word to know for caramel apples and apple flavored candy.

Cajeta

It means caramel and some popular candies include Obleas (wafer candy), caramel apples, and more.

Hopefully you'll be able to identify Mexican candy better and feel more confident in trying new candies! If you want to learn more, check out the other posts in the Mexican Candy for Dummies series. If you want to try these flavors and more, take a look at the Raquel's Candy N' Confections online store:
